roadtrip

We took a short break and a weekend off our renovation timeline to visit Anja and her family in Vorarlberg.
We’ve been there during Easter and we loved it. So when Anja invited us to come and celebrate with her the release of her beautiful self-published magazine SOI we didn’t hesitate and packed our bags!
The weather was perfect and so was the release party!

The location was an organic farm called Vetterhof. They’ve prepared a hay-barn cinema and disco and they served delicious soups made by Anjas partner-in-crime Ulli and her team of the Elfenküche in Dornbirn.

We had a great time at the Vetterhof and in Vorarlberg! Unfortunately we had to leave the next day.
Before that we did a little (baby)bump contest in front of a wooden shingled wall. (I think I won!)

I totally looking forward to come back! (and I think my boys do too!)
And you know what, we need to come back anyway … because we are planning to cover one wall of the nursery with those cute wooden “ruffle” shingles. Unfortunately, those where sold out at the moment. So we are going to collect a few square meters of them some time soon … as soon as we have a wall to cover. (maybe we should start with the essensials first before we buy the decoration!… story of my life..)

Thank you Vroni, Anja, Karl-Heinz and Nini for your heartwarming welcome. Everytime we visit it feels like coming home!

Road trip through Austria – Salzburg

roadtrip002
We’ve been hitting the road for the Easter weekend to visit some of our friends all over Austria.
We planed to travel through Salzburg to Vorarlberg. So we packed our bags, loaded the car and drove from Vienna to Salzburg.
Austria is a tiny country so we arrived at our first stop – Salzburg – 3 hours later.

We visited our friends Eva and Jacob: an Austrian-American newly-weds couple.
She’s a Graphic Designer and shop owner of Bows & Bandits, an online shop were you can buy beautiful Austrian vintage dresses and Jacob is an new-york-and-europe-based photographer. (yes, some people do have it all!)
Whenever Eva is in Austria we try to meet, so when we heared they are staying for a few weeks in Austria we didn’t hesitated to self-invite us in to their amazing apartment.

It was a beautiful Easter morning and we had a delicious breakfast with Eva, Jacob, Eva’s parents and her Granny!

Our next stop was Vorarlberg a tiny state next to the swiss boarder and totally worth a visit. There are a lot of creatives living in Vorarlberg and the architecture (traditional and new) is amazing!
We stayed with Anja (who already waited for us outside of her house … for hours!) and her family! Stay tuned for the next photos of a few days in Vorarlberg.

garden deck inspiration

cherryblossoms atreefor2
Do you remember a few month ago I told you I’m going to share some interior design moodboards every once in a while on atreefor2.
Today I’m going to share a moodboard for the exterior design/garden with you!
Because since we planted our new cherry tree for our balcony a few weeks ago (which is in full bloom now!) I imagine myself on our beautiful new sun deck and I really can’t think of anything else at the moment. It’s literally on my mind everyday (at least every sunny day)! I was raised on the countryside and I’m a true country gal who can’t wait to ran barefoot through the garden as soon as the first sunbeam hits the ground in spring!

So take a look at this…

I imagine myself sitting under our sunblind construction – we planned on building ourselfs. Houseshaped and made of metal and maybe wood!? Not totally sure about the sunroof yet but you can see on the skribble below how we imagine it to be (maybe a project for next year or winter to weld this construction). Anyway. This summer I’d love to take a seat next to Martin on my new dream Acapulco-style chair (1) or in the beautiful and comfy IKEA’s Högsten chair (2) wearing Andy Wolf shades (3 & 4) and clink glasses with Martin to our new sundeck! A girl can dream right?…
